New Defender - So Cosy.
Discussion
Had Defenders for nearly 15 years and just replaced my '02 90 Td5 CHT with a new 2.4Tci CHT earlier this month.
Thoroughly enjoying it. Much improved engine and gearbox, plus many other nice touches, such as the new dash and instruments. Very civilised - but still a 'Defender'
But best of all, it is so cosy on bitterly cold mornings. Fast warm up, a quiet and effective heater, heated seats and screens
It's so good I'm tempted to take it on our next ski trip - family can fly, I'll take the Defender loaded with all the gear.

I too have owned or had the use of defenders old and new,and now have the new 2.4 puma engined model.I totally agree the new cabin is the snugest yet, warming up in record time for a defender with no draughts or leaks at all!!The furthest Ive driven mine in one trip is 500 miles towing a car I was delivering to a customer and I felt fine afterwards,no tiredness or headaches etc.
Great news guys and just what I wanted to hear! I'm replacing our '02 Def90 in a few months so your comments are well timed - particularly since I quite happily do a fair few miles in one hit in our current crude old beast. Got one of the limited edition Softtops coming but I suspect it'll just be a novelty for a few months and be replaced by a 'normal' 90 pretty swiftly.
Back in mine today-Ive not driven it for a good few weeks, and only periodicaly over the last few months.Cold wind and hale ouside, but lovely and warm within. A big difference from my series 1 which didnt even have a heater, and using it in this weather resulted in an icy blast from between the tilt and the door frame-directed straight at the back of my neck
