Hello,

I'm fairly new to Audi ownership and am a fortunate custodian of an A6 3.0TDi S-Line Avant. The car is great and despite having come from Elises, remarkably swift. However, I recently took the car on a skiing holiday to Switzerland, so needed to find some snow chains for it - a fairly easy task one would think given how Quattro sponsor the ski racing! But oh no, my local Audi dealer proved next to useless, even telling me at one point that "you don't need them with an Audi Quattro, it's the only car they will let up without them" - fortunately I didn't believe him (somehow I couldn't see the Swiss police turning the RangeRovers back to let the A6 through with summer tyres on) and carried on asking. I was eventually told that no snow chains fit my car as it has the 19" wheels (an Audi option). Somewhat dumbfounded, I asked what I could do - no idea was the initial response, followed by you need to speak to the people that make the snow chains. I contacted the Audi recommended group (and jolly helpful they were too), who confirmed that no chains were available for my wheels so needed replacement wheels and winter tyres. Anyway, to cut a very long story short Audi told me the wrong size wheels, I bought them and snow tyres only to find they wouldn't go over my brakes. I managed to go skiing with the help of some Autosocks (although the legality was very dubious) and came back to complain to Audi. I filled in the on-line thingy - no response, other than they will get back to me in two days. I then forwarded this message through some two weeks later to say no response yet, and then forwarded through again to say still no response.

I am thoroughly fed up with the lack of customer service from Audi and want to speak to a real person to see what can done for future and why their info was so wrong. If anyone has a name they can send me with an email address, it really would be much appreciated. I guess the next step is the motoring press, but they don't seem too worried by that?

Anyone else had similar issues?

Rob.

Eeeerrrr - Audi UK and customer service do not seem to sit happily together, but anyways, in the end I complained straight to the top guy Jeremy Hicks, who amazingly managed to respond to an email within 2 hours!!!! and although he wasn't the ultimately the cahp I am now dealing with, he did forward on my details to the person senior enough who would, so I would say start at the top if the bottom can't seem to manage it:

email address is: jeremy.hicks@audi.co.uk

hope you get sorted!! Mine is still ongoing ......

Thanks so much - it is such a shame - great cars, but terrible aftersales!
