Fiesta Zetec S TDCi/Bluefin Question
Discussion
Hi all
I bought a bluefin for my fester about 2 months ago, all was fine and dandy but it was becoming increasingly noisy and sounded like a bag of old spanners when running at lower revs (below 2k) which it did a lot of the time. The overall effect seemed like the engine had been loosened up but not in a nice way sometimes.
I have un-bluefinnned the car and it now feels solid, a little slower but quicker than before the bluefin. It is also no less or more economical and a much smoother drive at low speeds, and TBH i dont usually go much over 70 in it to need any more top end speed.
Has anyone had similar bluefin issues and is there anything I could do?
Oh btw my car is a 2006 model 1.6tdci.

hi mate. i have a 56 fiesta tdci. i have bought bluefin for it but when i went to install the bluefin onto the car it beeped alot and then the dash was flashing high engine temperature and engine system fault but carried on installing. and when it finished it made knocking noises. any idea whats gong on?did u have the same problem?email me back asap cheers mate
Hi the bluefin has been fine since I fitted it but it does seem louder on tickover and when being worked, I found keeping the oil level at the top has kept the noise to a minimum and the warning lights are just part of the interfeering with the ecu process as far as I could tell.
I have been running with the bluefin off for most of my driving though and it feels slightly better than before it was fitted in terms of power and certainly more solid. I also use 5-10% less fuel without the bluefin installed, so its now for hooning only and TBH I might stick it on ebay as im not sure that any computer programmer knows more that a ford engineer. But thats another debate.
