Why do dealer/traders use peoples pictures of there current/previous car?

I have already had numerous emails asking if my old car is still for sale, and also questions about spec, age and miles.

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/253236.htm

Why not take there own of the car they have for sale not other peoples

cheers

Stevie, this "Trader" gets worse by the minute... i'd send him an e-mail asking him to remove pictures of your old steed.

I wonder if he's actually selling your car on the instruction of the current owner. confused

Off topic: I like the aerokit on the TT which is in stark contrast to the "fake GT3" (IMVHO) kits for the regular 911's

Hello Chaps,

Still offshore at the mo, back home later this evening.

I let my car go for around the 48k mark to a private buyer.

The car for sale in the advert is NOT MY OLD CAR!!

TBH I dont think its very professional to use other pics.

All the best

That is bang out of order and now, as far as I am concerned, the trader has lost all credibility and I wouldn't bother making the journey to see a car.

I was looking at his 'so called' stock thinking he had a nice selection, but if he dare not even put up the actual pics of the cars he is selling and instead tries to fool people with pic of other well looked after cars then I am not interested.

Silly thing is he is quoting the car as having an Aero Kit and the pics of yours Stevie are only the front splitter from what I can see?

Yes your spot on - my old car only had the aerokit front splitter and not the fixed rear spoiler.

Also my old car only had circa 28k on it and was a 2002/02.

I wonder how many of the cars are actually the ones in the pics on his adverts/.

Good day to you all

BBT ads will be removed today, they will be reinstated when pictures are changed and they agree not to do it again smile

Respectfully, I think if you let them re-advertise at a later date you will be doing PH'ers and yourselves a dis-service. I realise that they probably bring the coin in but still..

Click his website and ring the phone number for the office.

Kinda worries me that the following message comes up 'this number does not accept incoming calls'

Not the sort of company I would ever want to do business with!

So their phone number is dodgy.

Their photos are not real cars.

The company is being tee'd up for strikeoff.

Do they actually have any stock? Are they selling 'on behalf' of people?

I find it hard to believe a company with what seems to be many X50 996 Turbos, M6s etc. etc. stock advertised worth literally £100's of thousands of pounds would be in this state.

I smell something fishy and would be worried about allowing advertising to continue.

I just bought my car from Cridfords in Ripley, Surrey and they are situated right behind another garage...

I bought a car from the garage in front of Cridfords a few years back (it's now changed hands) and I found the boy who sold me the car to be a bit 'funny'... My clutch gave out after about a week and he disappeared but I felt this might be fairly average behaviour from a small, 2nd hand car dealer... Anyway, was talking to Jonathon at Cridfords and he said that that guy went bust owing something like £800k!!!! How do you even do that when most of your stock is fairly 'normal' cars with a few performance cars thrown in but only about 20 at the garage!

Anyway... Sorry for the off topic!

I work in the trade and to me its no suprise that people dont trust garages, i've worked for major dealers who cut corners etc and its just not on. I've always treat people the way i have wanted to be treat and its never done me no harm. Ripping people off etc will only come back to haunt you one day and i would also like to go to bed at night and sleep..
