Also, having BA (Hons), MSCE after your name, strikes me as, well, a little bit, erm, wanky.
If it was a proper professional body with layers of membership like MRICS or FRICS then I could see value in it but otherwise the card is your contact details not a miniature CV.
fair enough keep it coming! If it was a proper professional body with layers of membership like MRICS or FRICS then I could see value in it but otherwise the card is your contact details not a miniature CV.
Also 'hons' has a capital 'H'.
I agree that it can look a little desperate (to those with degrees, who know that almost every degree is an Honours degree) but just 'BA, MCSE' would look a little tidier if you want to get them in. And why not? Otherwise you could have been some greasy yob who left school at 14 and sold cars!

That said, it is usually in a smaller typeface or a more 'authoritative' font. Think small - maybe half the size and Times New Roman.

only reason for ba etc on there is i will be dealing with private schools who like that sort of thing. anyway its the logo / font/ colours that are driving me mad not the qualifications!!
If that is your type of clients, I would perhaps consider a more traditional but ultra high quality approach. When you see a card in your hand with a heavy weight, textured, watermarked paper with classic silver or black text, you feel like you are dealing with the chairman of the board.
Completely depends on the type of impression you want to portray. We actually did a pretty successful cold mailing to private schools some years back which I swear worked so well due to the classic, simple, high quality approach.

In that case blue is out due to it looking a bit too much like the NHS logo as has been said.
The solid purple could be worth a look with the right font but get rid of the drop shadow, you're not running a taxi firm.
am happy to give people lifts if the price is right The solid purple could be worth a look with the right font but get rid of the drop shadow, you're not running a taxi firm.
thanks for the advice so far chaps. Yes i will be dealing with private schools but at the same time want to be relatively modern in approach without putting them off.
