Just refitted the fuse to the centre console controls to try and get them working. They mostly seem ok but the right switch at the top labelled G in my manual is having problems. According to the manual this is my fan control but it isn't, that's located bottom left. This is operating a motor that's on the passenger side and fixed against the left side of the footwell.

Can anyone tell me what this motor is doing? AND
Secondly can anyone tell me why the motor is continually turning without stopping( unless the switch is turned off ).

Can only Guess its swapped with B in your Manual, which is the recirculation switch( Dont ask how it works with the top down).
The motor you can hear could then be a motor shutting some Flaps where the air comes in.

Do your other switches relate to the Manual, as it could of been put on a whole 180 Degress out.Just a thought.

I don't think it's been rotated as I think it's the heater control which should be top left according to the manual. Had a look this afternoon and it looks like it's connected to a large rubber water pipe which is why I think it's the heater????

Just got yer re-circulation gag, like it.

I probably can un-attach it but it's difficult to see how as there's not much room and it's behind the glove box which I've already removed. I received my copy of the bible this morning and was hoping that would help, just when it looked like I was getting to a useful bit, the subject went off at a tangent and started going on about about how a twig was caught in a vent during a race event and the vents started bellowing smoke so he had to stop. I wonder if I've got a twig caught behind my glove box hmmmmmm? I'll take a look.

The top right knob/swith in mine is definitely the fan control - push in to make it come on then turn clockwise to increase. Maybe take this chance to put yours back where it should be?

The interior controls are all linked to a microprocessor system that manipulates the valves and so on. Either someone has fitted the unit the wrong way round... or there is a fault on the controller board so that the fan is no longer working. If it is something like the switch or potentiometer then there is a chance of fixing it. If not it is a new unit. The fact that you have had to replace a fuse to get it working does seem to indicate some kind of electrical failure.

The whirring is the heater valves in the fottwell. It is possible that the controller is knacked that this is why they are not stopping.

If it is the controller, about £200 from TVR.

The circuitry was knacked when I got it, one of teh potentiometres had come loose and had rotated so that two terminals were touching, that's why when f first replaced the fuse I got a stench of electrical burning, I had the part checked out and had a replacement fitted along with most of the rest of the components, LEDs, resistors etc. Got to admit it is behaving peculiarly so you've probably got a point of replacing as TVR understandably won't provide a wiring diagram of it.

Thanks for the advice
