I've recently bought a kit car with an Alfa 24v V6 engine. The car has been raced recently and needs remapping as it prefers to run at 90mph rather than 30. smile

Does anyone know of and can recommend an engine tuning company that can do the job?

Anywhere in North London, S. Herts or W.Essex would be great but I'm willing to travel.

Thanks.

If its a factory ecu, not all of them ca simply be "remapped"

It's a DTA E48. The engine is race tuned to roughly 270 BHP. I need it 'cleaned up' to run on standard unleaded and so that it is smooth at part throttle. When I drove it the car sang at high revs but wasn't happy tootling along in traffic.

I know I will lose some BHP but it will be worth it for a smoother ride.

Heard good things about Steve at Track and Powerformance in Essex - 01708 869189 or 07774773824, worth a try.

Could be the cams though that are causing the rough running - if they were used for racing, I'm guessing they have been changed to achieve 275BHP.

Cheers,
Chris

I've found a company in Basildon, Essex. Redline Tuning. They reckon that it will be no problem for them to remap the DTA Their website seems to offer just what I'm after. Thanks for all of the advice. smile

Unless someone has made a mess of the mapping already, I think you may be disappointed with what you can achieve on a highly strung, normally aspirated race engine just by fiddling with the map. Super lumpy cams and ultralight flywheels can't be replaced over a serial cable...

I understand what you mean. TBH, the car is driveable as it is. I'm just seeing what can be done with a remap to make it a little more 'domesticated' in town.

It's an Alfa 164 super 24v 3.0L V6. With standard internals and Cloverleaf intake runners.
