Hoping to be, mind you, SEXIGE has just had a hissy fit on the way to Hawkes Bay last night and it's now non-functional so it depends how quickly I can effect a repair.

yikes

There's a bit of a pattern developing on that road. Are you breaching a tapu or something ?

Hope it's not too expensive. smile

I think I'm going to have to sing a waiata to scare off the taniwhas now when going down that road.

Alternator's completely goosed.

Just coming into Napier, the gharge light was flickering at high revs (won't say what speed I was doing at the time)... got progressively lower and lower down the rev range, then the light went out again after about 4 or 5 minutes. Thought it'd fixed itself, but cruised into havelock north with the very strong smell of electrical shorty melty melty eminating from the engine bay.... will need to find a new alternator pronto as the old one's comprehensively deaded.

Bugger George frown Lotus OEM part or parts bin number? I know the Esprit Alternator is off a Cadillac Catera. It is a 120 A Bosch unit.
Part # 0 123 510 064. I doubt the Exige is the same but hey my rear calipers are infact Exige!! And our switch gear inside is from the same parts supplier amoungst numerous other shared parts smile

Muaaahahaaaar!!!

Nice to see a few Phers there today. Me, Simon, Ian, CRM, Renn68(george) + Ang and Nick. Not sure if Reece or Tony I is on here ???
Had a great testing day in the toy with perfect weather. Theres no shortage of power as expected but had some trouble getting the hard old rears to grip, so couldnt actually put the hammer down through the twisties they were just stepping out/sliding all over the show, but got some nice straight line speed which was cool.
Ian your a nutter in that Londa, its insane!!
Got some pics but sadly not everyones cars - sorry!! frown
Here are some though
Nicks Esprit

Ian behind Rogers Exige, George R and Angela standing by and Simon too.

Simon did well on the camera, I only managed a few.

I just love Tonys 111R

Me and Angela having a drag

Gutted I couldn't make it, but my car's just not up to it at the moment. Just got back to Auckland and the car's now off the road for the winter... engine's coming out and coming to bits... it's making some rather concerning noises frown

Great meeting up with everyone today. Had a really good day, after the prang at Taupo I wanted to build up slowly. Ended up on the last timesheet I saw in the 1.09's which was the objective today. The car definitely improved once I fiddled a bit with the dampers. Just need to put on some fresh rubber and sort out the play in the steering rack.

Kylie's Esprit was very impressive sounded very menacing down the front straight. Good to see you've quickly mastered youtube Kylie. Now we're all waiting for some inboard footage, the first session will do nicely eekbiggrin

Sorry to hear about the engine George, but it just shows if you wish for something enough it'll come true...smash

Don't think it's bottom end, or rather hoping not. I suspect it's something to do with the valves/guides/lifters etc. Got me back to Auckland alright butcertainly needs to be sussed before being driven in anger again.

Simon was upstairs with the digi camera and took that one. So least I could figure out how to get it from memory stick to the net. Camera tapes will have to read the manual to see how I do that shouldnt be too hard to figure out. Played it back on tele last night and that particular outing wasnt as dramatic as I thought from inside but must have made up for it doing the skids.
As Ang said to me I got to stop shakin that ass!!! laugh

Am glad you got your target time. I woke up this mornig on the whole feeling a little disappointed as its gots loads to give but couldnt get it to stick. I was lapping faster by a long shot in the 89Turbo with alsmost half the power so to go backwards from there was a downer for me.
But hey first outing in it and more tweaking to come so it can only get better from there smile
