Anyone been to the new place in the Mosaic on Narrow Street - Veranda - yet? It's been under construction for a good 12 months - and I noticed it was finally open this weekend. I have a weakness for a good Indian and have been going to the outstanding Lahore Curry Kebab place off the Commercial Road for years. Veranda, with its very own alcohol licence, looks like it might be a bit more civilised. Even trendy, dare I say...ThatPhilBrettGuy is bound to have been...

Do they deliver?

Been struggling to find a decent Indian in the area who delivers.

Any recommendations?

Excellent news - that's all I need Vesuvius! I'll report back after the weekend. If I can just steer MrsC away from anything with lobster in it and stick to a few Tigers, this might just become the new 'regular'!

Issue is..

I'll walk over that way.. get to mosaic.. then see La Figa... and convince myself that I want to eat there.. so I'll walk over to that.. then see the Narrow and know I want to eat there...

And my Indian will become some lovely roasted meat and root veg!

Ack!

Yeah they do deliver.

Spice Merchants is also good (and cheaper)
Rajboy is a really good basic cheap curry and pub type place. Good food and cheap.

No in fact. I have to say it took 'opening soon' to a new level of wrongness. Looks like ever other City generic Indian restaurant to me. Nice to know it's more than that.

Another new arrival seems to be Ping Pong Dim sum down at St Kaths which even though their website says opening in April it looked very open tonight. Might have a look assuming it's not a friends 'test the system' night.

It's near the new Prohibition I think - was going to try it on Monday, but the website said it wouldn't be open.

With a name like that, do they have a special "Ten dorrah" section?

Its definitely been open for a few days now... not been to that branch, but the Baker St one is good so guess its going to be similar in there.

Royal China in Canary Wharf also do great Dim Sum at weekend mornings, very good value as well.

Can I suggest a Veranda Curry night for those of us out East?
