New XKR. Does an import fetch much less money?
Discussion
As Avos has said, take a look on Autotrader for an XKR with exactly the same spec as the import and compare the difference in prices. Expect more depreciation with it and the possibility no one may touch it should you want to sell it later on.
Either that or wait for the UK to drop into your budget.

There, at least used to be, a deal whereby UK forces stationed overseas (Germany) could buy full spec UK cars and knock down German prices and then have the dealer network in the UK treat them just like UK sourced cars. Not sure whether this is still the case.
But it was supposed to be the one perk of agreeing to have people shoot at you.
Any military types out there no more details?

Not in the military but my 2001 XKR convertiable is one of these cars. Originaly registered to a Colonel and supplied by a dealer in Mannheim. UK Jaguar dealers dont treat it any diffrently to a UK supplied Jag.But it was supposed to be the one perk of agreeing to have people shoot at you.

Given the recent discussions regarding residuals and sale-ability of XKs/XKRs i'd not touch an import, no matter how long it has been domiciled. It may be identical to uk cars but try telling that to a buyer when you want to sell. I'd need at least £10k off the price of a UK car to be happy that I wouldnt be losing out come resale.
P.S dont pay too much attention to the prices on Autotrader; there are a lot of dreamers out there. Expect actual sale price to be somewhat lower than advertised.

Irrespective of where you got it from, the car is simply superb.
