....meaning wooden steering wheel and gear knob obviously!?

Some 'livery' questions:

1. Anyone know about costs and places where one might purchase the above? Have I seen Momo mentioned elsewhere?

2. What was the 'original' configuration of V8S steering wheel, gear knob, hand brake materials?

3. Any comments from any 'traditionalists' here regarding changing the above. (If I have any inclination I would tend towards trying to keep/return the car to an 'orinigal' condition)

Any help/comments appreciated.

When I met up with Dave (S3DaveP) last week, he was interested in changing his wooden steering wheel for a leather one.

I assume it was the 'optional when new' one, with 3 spokes (chrome), pointless horn push centre, and in nice nick.

However I'm not speaking for him - you could try emailing him if you have the leather one to swap!

Must say that i prefer the wood too, but i think we are in the minority, especially where the steering wheel is concerned. I know a few guys on PH have changed to leather one's, so you may be able to pick one up if you advertise.

As for the gear knob and hand brake lever. Well, i recently asked David Gerald's and they said you now cannot get the originals. I managed to find a company that specialises in car wood trim called Classic Woodwork in Shirley, Birmingham, who are presently in the process on making me a walnut gear knob. I'm having a "TVR made in England" sticker on the top, which i sourced off TVRCC (M series steering wheel centre sticker) should cost £20-30. Did think about having a handbrake lever made, but though i would firstly see how this turned out.

If you want the number of Classic woodwork let me know and I'll post it.

Thanks for the opinions and for posting the link to the previous conversation. Good reading.

Has got me thinking now, but best I wait until I finally buy the car eh?

Rover SD1 BL plastic gear knob.
Rover SD1 BL plastic handbrake handle.
TVR (MoMO) black leather steering wheel.
Woody steering wheel optional extra.

Anything ally is an attempt at making the car look like a 1980s wine bar (allegedly)
Each to their own though.
