Hi All

Looking for some advice on google adwords, never used it before and know little on how it all works.
Basically im a looking at selling some mobile phone software, i got in touch with a guy who owns a particular program which i
would like to resell on my website which is not yet finished so no traffic going to it.
Below is part of his email reply to me

'it will be a one off payment of £250 through paypal, and we
will send you everything you need and all the info to sell the
software on your website. We currently sell over 10 per day at
£24.99 each, so its definitely worth investing in, you just have to
make sure you use Google Adwords or another PPC service properly. We
recommend that you do 40p per click and set a budget of £50 per day.
The clicks usually go down to 10-20p and you can expect to spend
£15-£30 per day depending on the amount of visitors'.

To be honest this doesn't really mean much to me, any advice would be great.

thanks

BE CAREFUL.

According to latest stats 70% of Joe Public ignore PPC adds anyway, opting for organic listings. I would say your money is better invested in getting a good organic listing rather than relying on adwords.

Adwords is a useful tool, we use it a lot but only to suppliment our main listing / target new keywords.

Why be careful? If they don't click, you don't spend. In addition, whilst I cannot argue the 70% stat you mentioned, I can say that this is just an average across sectors, and as such, you'll find things such as finance/motoring have a higher CTR on search pages.

I would be careful if you're opting for banner advertising, especially on social networking sites - it's the quickest way to pour money down the drain.

BTW - sound advice coyft.
