Possibly not the first one to actually happen, but certainly the first I've been witness to the aftermath of, and I'm certain it wont be the last: Renualt Megane went in too fast (or looked to have- I'm guessing) southbound, spun out & rear-ended the crash barrier. Noone looked hurt, but there was a guy with a Corsa behind with hazards on, and talking over papers, so might have been a 2-car incident. Anyone shed any light? Would have been about half nine tonight.

Surprised I've seen noone spin out northbound yet- that whole curve looks like it was made with some fantastic 2-car-wide drift in mind.

Is this southbound? I'm surprised anyway considering the speed limit is 50 mph southbound and on the northbound side it is 30 mph. Hardly spin off speeds eh? I take it this is on the south side of the river? I've taken the route at over 70 leptons out of rush hour, no problem with the road.

Yeah, it was southbound from Fife onto the A8000. I've taken it at about 65 in my bucket of a Punto, leaving at 80(KPH, officer) as it straightens out- in fact I've even had a lock-up and came out OK, so I can only assume he was either in a collision, or somehow managed to really unbalance his car. Puncture maybe? Shopping in the boot? Thinking back, if it had been at high speed, I'm sure the car would have been in more of a mess, but the back had certainly impacted with the barrier and it was lying at right angles to it, so I can only assume he spun out somehow.

Just thought that someone else may have been there around the time, or maybe drove the route this morning & saw tyremarks. Its such a pleasant road to drive on after the previous mile of potholes.
