Hi there. Does anyone have anymore info about this? My missus said she heard something about a speed limit cut and all I found from a quick google search is this.

If this is true then its just stupid - another case of, "The answer's a speed limit cut whats the question?". How about sorting out tailgating, people not looking ahead, or having poor awareness of other cars around them?

I can just imagine a situation where today a learner taking a test gets failed/minors for only doing 60 in a 70, and then after the speed limit cut gets 3 points/60 quid fine for 60 in a 50. mad

There was something about it at the start of the year. Can't believe that it'd happen all the way from M25 but wouldn't be surprised from Rayleigh Weir, maybe even Basildon. Recall that their argument referred in part to the number of turnings onto the road from Bas onwards all of which have very short or non existent slip roads. Thankfully I'm not using that road much at the moment.

Please can someone make an FoI request for information held on:
a) accident reports for accidents on this road in the past 3 years
b) any proposed measures to improve road safety on the A127

I believe you will get interesting responses, if they play ball and provide them...

They Could try sorting the road out once and for all couldnt they? I use this road everyday from Rayleigh Weir to Hornchurch and its just a complete joke the answer is'nt to limit the speed, The road surface is awful with lorry lines and pot holes and how come lorry drivers still find it hard to read the speed limit signs at fortune of war roundabout and end up tipping the wagons? Why not make the road wider in the busier sections, instead of wasting thousands on piontless gantry signs that give useless and out of date info? Sorry rant over but its a joke!
