Brands Hatch Acid Mud!!
Discussion
Got home tonight and jet washed all the car clean, then washed it by hand with a wool mit and chemical guys shampoo, rinsed and dried it with a micri fibre towel and found that the mud which had splattered over my car has etched into the clear coat!!! not inpressed!
Its not as if the paint is unpolished either, recently had it pro detailed and waxed with some very expensive stuff!
Tried to wax it clean and then polish it back and all to no avail!
Anyone else had the same problem?
(will probably machine polish out but that will cost!)

Doesn't sound good. I just hand washed mine and it looked fine. Will pop out later for a closer inspection. That bloody mud was a nightmare. I managed to get mine out without too much trouble, but that was after getting covered in mud whilst bailing out a black VX220 and a Blue Astra VXR, which was back and forth about 4 times and came very close to knocking a Merc.
Fantastic day though. Thanks to BO55 for sorting it out.

Had a close look and you can see etch lines running down the new painted rear wings but when they get to the old paint on the rear bumper the etching abruptly stops! Off to the dealer who painted it tomorrow to sort things out as obviously a new paint issue.
Pissed off is putting it mildly!

Just point down the hill, no?
Alan I was a bit worried where you parked yours, it did not look at all safe there even though I did shout out to you that it was probably better left there on the road way rather than the mud pit!Oh yes i saw the TVR well splattered.
never mind lads, it was a good day out.

I wonder could this be a sign of things to come, now that paint shops are being forced to use water based paints ??Pissed off is putting it mildly!
Not sure on the exact details...but as always, Euro legislation was to ban the use of the paints sprayers have been using for years. I think that came in a year or so ago....

I feel like posting up the vid of Rocket

Hmmmmmm...wasn't expecting it to be quite that bad!! The 'parking marshals' were cr@p to put it mildly!
Thankfully the RAC (the guys that then have to go around and help everyone that the marshals have abandoned) were great and pulled us out with their Landy. Didn't get a picture whilst stuck (bit pee'd off at the time), but took a couple of snaps afterwards.
Apart from that, a good day's racing!
