Hi all, ive done a search and can't find any mention of this one so far,. on my 93 chim (which has meta system ) all was fine then one day for no apparant reason on unlocking the car the immobiliser works the locks unlock, but the alarm is still armed,. the siren is de-activated but the hazards are going off whilst im driving,. im now getting bored of going "yeah cheers mate," to every other driver who has the decency to remind me i have my hazards on!!,.if i can de-activate the triggering systems so its just the central locking & immobiliser this would be great,.anyone know how to achieve this?,.im in spain so its a DIY job,.
Thanks
Paul.

Hi Paul,
Have you got a plastic key that should be with the other car keys, its about two inches long and rectangular. If so there is a slot where the immobiliser flashes near the ignition barrel. Put the plastic key into this and I believe it resets the system.

The only light in the dash area that flashes is the red one inbetween the clocks,. (immobiliser) the one on the rectangle key thingy isn't flashing.

It should be flashing and go out when inserting key.
Maybe not a diy job unless your the bees knees with electrics.

I think you've got the old central locking (part of the Gemini OE system) out of sequence with the retro fitted Meta system....do you have door keys to that would of operated the alarm prior to the Meta system being fitted? Adrian@
I might be wrong here so.....

OK, The point is that you have keys and the lock units have electrical connections that would have opened and shut the car before the meta system was fitted. They need to match. Disconnect the battery first, and bring the system up and see if they will reset. I have done it by opening the then doors and lock the doors on the key. I know that customers with this issue learn how to reset them in time, it is not unusual, as the cars moved from buttons to no buttons all kind of alarm people fitted these piggy-backed onto the OE units and most have the same or similar fault. Hi, I don't disagree with LG on this...I only have my time with customers cars that fail around me, and then I usually ring the customer to get advice on how to get them back in sequence. I have one that I am talking to Carl about where the LH indicator stays on when the alarm is set just on the odd occasion, which the customer resets by disconnecting the battery and after a few minutes all is well, I know that IF he uses the key to lock the car it then puts the alarm out of sequence and the lights flash as he is driving along and it is a pain to get right. So I would try opening the door disconnecting the battery, leave it off for 2-3 mins and reconnect it (it will reset your ECU as well and the adaptives will take a while to calm down). Adrian@
