Help please Guys.

Just had the M400 in to the local Air con chappies 'cos it stopped working. They have checked it out and everything appears fine except that the coolant valve (can't remember exactly what they called it?)is stuck open, therefore apparently not shutting off the heater supply?
The air con pipes are all ice cold and the pressures, etc, suggest that this is okay...
Does this make sense to anyone and where is the offending item located on the car?
They said that they have seen this problem before esp. on Fords scratchchin mmm - sounds familiar!!

There is a mixer valve in the tunnel, about a foot in front of the gearshift. if you remove the inspection cover under the car you can get to it. maybe this is the valve they are talking about. And yes they do fail.

Check out post # 4 on this thread:
http://www.nobleforums.com/showthread.php?t=2595&a...
for more details on the bypass valve.
It is quite common for this valve to malfunction so that the flow of hot engine coolant cannot be turned off completely, which makes if very difficult to get any benefit from the A/C.

Sorted guys. The linkage/cable mechanism had come loose and wasn't closing the valve. Reconnected and adjusted - everythings now bang on!!
