The car is at the dealers with a blown heater hose, it seems quite a few of you have had this happen over the last couple of years. The dealer acknowledged it was split.........well considering it was throwing anti-freeze all over their car park and steam was coming out of the bonnet, even my daughter worked that one out.

They are also looking at the LED brake light in the spoiler as there is only 2 little lights glowing (out of 15 ish) I hope everything is under warranty.

They haven't got a hose in stock and they don't know when they will get one..........great.

Not too sure whether I will make Santa Pod this Sunday now, I may have to use my latest 2 wheel toy or nick the Wife's car.

I doubt they will have any issues getting hold of them, but if they do, we keep them in stock.

Yes, the car is in at Grose's.

What have you chaps done with your own pipes to help prevent failures in the future ?

I wrote a letter to Vauxhall on this and they denied that this was an "Issue". . . BS
The more letters to Vauxhall the better IMO.
For the record they got a replacement in about 4 days, I got mine checked at my last service, but is really difficult to see. I'd imagine slipping a larger hose over the outside of it would be the easiest thing to do giving an increased wall thickness.

Heater hose in question is accessed under bonnet, just behind the battery. One of 2 rubber hoses that run along the top of the chassis leg next to the offside exhaust manifold, to just under the brake servo. It was laying against the thin, sharp edge of a galvanised metal plate bolted to the chassis leg. Said plate is probably there to secure heater hose.

Yep. There's another problem area at the rear end of the driver's side cylinder head. Hardly any space between head and bulkhead where two heater hoses pass. They're held together at that point by an elasticated sock but limited space means they are rubbing on the end of the cylinder head. Cured this by standing in front of car, laying over engine and take a file to a sharp, machined edge on the rear end of the cylinder head, watch your knuckles mad

The hose has now been replaced by the Dealer but I'm still waiting for a replacement led brake light (in the spoiler)
