'Roush Technologies will adapt existing internal combustion vehicles to run off the zero-emission fuel'

Does anyone know if it would be possbile in the future to convert Nobles to run on hydrogen?

Why would you? More weight, less power and just where are you going to put the tank?

well everyone is talking about it these days. Just wondering if the Noble is adaptable for this type of fuel. You're right about where the tank(s) would go though as there is no space.

Easy with some lowly tuned V12. Probably just changes ECU maps when switched. The miles per (whatever hydrogen is) probably drops right off.

Most likely its biofuel but a high ethanol content. Just takes some remapping and checking the lines/tanks etc won't rot I believe.

any 4 stroke engine can run on hydrogen

however the noble compression ratio is a bit low

this guy was quite famous for hydrogen production

No, this is pure hydrogen. The vehicles will still be bi-fuel, meaning they can run petrol or hydrogen. The technology to generate the hydrogen off mains electricity is excitingly novel and the ability to have a vehicle with zero CO2 production is highly appealing to lots of people.

We're all excited to be working with this ground-breaking technology.

Hi, Nick,

Sorry, this is not a quick conversion. These commercial vehicles are being built specifically for this programme at this stage. Integration of the hydrogen storage tank is going to be difficult, and bespoke engine management when running on H2 will need quite a lot of development.

Unless you've got a few million lying around to buy into the development.....
wink
