6L VXR is the VZ (2005 onwards) and the VY was the 5.7 (2004). Worth noting that production ended in 2005 irrespecive of what it says on the number plate.
Easiest way to tell is the VZ has nostrils in the bonnet and twin exit exhausts. Both are cracking cars and there's little to choose between them on the road, especially as most have been modified to a similar standard. Beware the pathetic boot on the VZ if you plan to use it as your main car.
