You're lucky. I never even got that issue. Last CD I got was in October 2007!! My subscription is due to end in August 2008, so I am due about 6 issues of either refund or actual magazines. I also note that the last thread about Circuit/Track driver on PH got deleted because of legal pressures and the subsequent caving-in of the moderators and/or site owners.

I got the first issue, which was frankly quite crap IMO - most of the content was carried over/repeated from TRC and much was out of date*. They've had the same 'classified' ads in the back for about 6 months (including CD). I haven't received anything since and don't expect to.
I expect this thread to end up being pulled, but mods please note that nobody has written anything libellous (yet).
I just hope someone comes up with another publication to fill the gap.

I see on the MSV site "track and Race Car action day " is advertised for Wednesday 16th April at Brands

The Brands Hatch Indy circuit has created some of the most thrilling motor races in motorsport history and courtesy of its natural amphitheatre design those privileged to spectate have enjoyed witnessing the stars of the future blossom in front of their very eyes.
Consisting of a series of beautifully flowing corners and including the legendary Paddock Hill Bend, there's no wonder why Brands Hatch has been chosen by Track & Race Cars Magazine to host its annual Action Day.
As you can expect the Track & Race Cars team will be on hand to offer expert advice from driving technique via its European Correspondent, Roberto Giordanelli, to car setup advice from the Technical Editor and rally legend, Andy Dawson (using flat-bed equipment courtesy of Esprit Automotive Limited).
On a lighter note hot rides in the magazine featured historic Lotus 26R and its younger cousins (in the shape of the Lotus Elise and Lotus Exige) are on hand, not forgetting passenger laps by Keith Wood in the new Ariel Atom 3 245 which will be filmed and broadcast LIVE to a plasma screen in the pit garages. Watch your friends reactions as they drop into Paddock Hill Bend!
With an open pit lane format allowing you to enjoy all of the circuit in your own time and pace it's the perfect event to develop your driving skills in a safe, controlled and professional environment.
This event is more suited towards the more experienced track driver, however if you have never been on track before then take advantage of the expert advice on hand and book a session of instruction from the MotorsportVision instructors and you'll soon be up to speed in no time at all.
Places, as you can imagine, are limited so don't miss out!

I was just wondering about this too, thinking it must be (over)due any day now for a couple of weeks - I did get the one in early February.
The lady I spoke to on the phone - in January I think - talked so convincingly about how the problems were behind them and the 'son of CD' would be published soon and TRC back on track (unintentional pun).
Before the cowards - sorry moderators - pull this thread/ban me etc. maybe, if we are all thinking the worst someone from within (Unity publishing?) could reply to reassure us and give some facts about dates etc. I wait in hope / vain [delete as appropriate].

I have to say that I did not really cotton on to the lapse in getting my subscription copies, then this other, somewhat similar mag. turns up in the post.....
Can anyone fill me in on what happened to the old mag/publisher and how it metamorphosed into something else?....or just one copy of same.

Just to clarify - the reason we had to pull some of the previous discussion was that it's a legal mess with each party pointing the finger at the other. It's very difficult in that situation to sort the fact from the hearsay.
Yes, there were posts made from some of the interested parties that I personally took at face value but in a situation like that if you're asked to pull content that one party claims is inaccurate then generally you have to.
We complied with that request, even though we had people pretending to be new readers praising the magazine who in fact worked for the publisher!
It's all very well calling us cowards etc, but we have a simple policy on libel type issues - don't get involved. If it was your business I suspect you'd do the same. Some will say "if it's fact then it's not libel", but that's for courts to decide, not a few random blokes sat in front of their PCs.

OK fair enough - I regret and apologise for using the term 'cowards'; was just v. annoyed at the closure of the last series and it seeming to let the people most of us seem to think are the perps. of the situation and our loss get away with it, presumably by threatening legal action.

To our alarm we have realised that search engines still draw up this thread when you search for Track Driver magazine.
The newly launched Track Driver magazine is completely unrelated to the publishing company that is referred to above, and indeed it's Directors. The legal mess touched on above also meant that the titles were free, so we secured them because, well, they are good..
The Track Driver team includes Mark Hales, John Hayman and other contributors. Issue 1 has gone to press with hugely positive reviews.
One more thing, it's free to market.
