I need to replace the manifold on my 205 so I can sell it, but I'm having real difficulty finding either a new or used one.

The one which is knackered is a 4 into 1 manifold which looks like it's the same length as a standard manifold and downpipe, but I can't find either a standard or direct replacement item. I'd even consider a complete replacement system if I could find one but I don't want to be paying £200-£300 for a new one when I'm about to sell the car.

I've tried Ebay, 205gtidrivers.com and PH classifieds. Anyone got any other ideas of where to try or even got one sitting in their garage?

Are you after the cast 4-1 manifold? The standard one?

www.psooc.com might be worth trying, otherwise you could try Miles at Pug Racing - (pm him through 205gti drivers) he may have one kicking around.

Trip to the scrappys will be your best bet for a standard one.

I'm not 100% sure. I 'think' the standard manifold is quite short, utilising a seperate downpipe providing a joint under the car onto the midpipe. On my car the manifold extends all the way to the underside of the car and connects directly onto the midpipe - I assume this is an aftermarket item, but it has no labels etc.

I would happily replace the whoel lot if I was keeping the car, but as I want to sell it, it makes sense just to do the most basic (and therefore cheapest) fix.

Is the 309 GTi manifold the same? Rest of the engine looks the same to me. If it is I'm breaking this http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/452451.htm if you want the manifold. Won't be getting the engine out till next weekend though.

Yes the cast manifold is the same, I don't think the downpipe is.

The only 4-1 Manifold I have had first hand experience of is the Magnex one which is stainless steel. These aren't that cheap.
What exactly is the problem with yours.

What exactly is the problem with yours.
Mine is just mild steel although the midpipe and backbox are stainless steel (can't see munufacturers label anywhere). The problem is a hole somewhere in the middle of where the four pipes join. No way to get in to repair it, so got to be replaced.

It may well be a maniflow, try Miles on 205GtiDrivers, pretty sure he supplies them. However, your cheapest option is to go back to stock. Just pick-up a complete system second hand...

Thanks for your comments guys. Further research seems to suggest it's a Magnex 4 into 1 manifold. Therefore, I'm either needing a cheap replacement magnex item or a complete standard system including manifold.

I'm off on holiday tomorrow so no time to pick anything up. I know the car is clogging up a mates garage and I need to get it sorted ASAP so if anyone in North Kent / SE London has either of the above available please post on here and I'll see if a mate could pick up for me.

Otherwise, I'll have to sort it out when I get back.
