I would ask that someone that already has a company, somewhere completely different so they don't think you are a competitor.

The thing is 'standard' business insurers will run a mile. If you compare the risk of an office based company the chances of someone falling over is small and the max liability is a few grand. God forbid if something happens out on the boat they are going to be paying out six or seven figure sums.

Perhaps there is a way of getting them to sign a 'at your own risk' type disclaimer before you start?

is there a UK wakeboarding association? It might come under the waterski one...

Anyway, I am a dinghy sailing instructor. The RYA (our governing body) offer insurance cover to instructors. I believe it is a pretty good deal, however I work for the local council, and there insurance covers me for a hell of a lot more, and I dont have to pay for it.

I know a few guys in the wakeboard club at Uni, so will ask around when I next bump into them.

Cheers, Ive spoken to the british water ski fed about it. The trouble is I'm in coastal waters, cat c water. Its this which is causeing the problems with insurance. Ive been told that disclaimers are pretty useless, if you are seen in any way neglegent your responsible. I think I'll need a disclaimer and insurance.
