The man from UPS bought me a rather nice parcel today !!
Discussion
Hi there,
Ordered myself a new camera on Thursday night, it arrived this afternoon can't wait to give it a try at Silverstone for the FIA GT event at the weekend.
The parcel contained the following: -
Canon EOS40D Body
Canon 18-55mm IS lens
Canon 55-250mm IS lens
Canon BG-2EN Battery Grip
4GB Memory Card
3 x Spare Batteries (2 to use in the Battery Grip)
Other bits and bobs inc screen protector, cleaning kit, camera bag etc.
According to Warehouse Express this little lot would cost £1283.96. (if the batterys were genuine Canon ones).
I paid £875.97 inc shipping from Digital Rev in Hong Kong via EBay.
A saving of over £400.00.
Ordered the camera Thursday and it arrived with me today (Monday). Thats 4 days from Hong Kong.
Anyone have experience of the 40D, how good is it ??
Have had a little play tonight and it looks very different to my Olympus E500.

Regards
Tim

Nice Kit!
Does anyone else use these Hong Kong shops to buy from? I've heard that the manufacturers won't honour the warranties on cameras sourced from the Far East. I think Onestop are the same.
This puts me off though..
"We cannot accept your request for returning you order if you have accepted the delivery of your order, unless there is a manufacturer's fault with the product, in which case you will need to inform us within 3 days of receiving your order.
Upon receiving your returned order, we will inspect the faulty product. Depending on circumstances, we will then repair the fault or provide you with a replacement if our techincal staff approves that the product does indeed carry a manufacturer's fault.
Unless otherwise stated, we offer 12 months "Retrun [sic] to Hong Kong" warranty for all of our cameras and 6 months warranty for camera lenses and flashguns.
Simply contact us, and we will be happy to assist you. A simple instruction will be given to guide you through the process of posting the faulty product to Hong Kong for repairs."

I've bought lenses from Hong Kong
But to be honest the last lot of stuff I bought I got from "Kerso" well known on here and on Ebay.
No one could match his prices, and I got all of the Canon Cash back deal that was on at the time. And full UK warranty.

Congrats, it looks like a great piece of kit.
I've had mixed fortunes of buying from Hong Kong via ebay, but the items that did go
wrong and they didn't change, were fortunately not expensive.
By the way, did you not get hit by Customs wanting their bit?
I'll be at Silverstone on Saturday (possibly Friday) so we may bump into each other!
Have fun.

Hi there,
Digital Rev have a deal whereby any VAT you pay on selected items is refunded.
I had to pay £46.04 in VAT to UPS, this will be refunded by DR within 24 hours.
Nearly bought from a seller in the USA, although the VAT issue worried me.
