Hi,

Still on the search for 'the right car' and have seen a couple recently that have had very stiff if not 'seized' heater controls.

Is this a problem easily overcome? or is it a dashboard-off job? or a sign that something 'sinister' is wrong?

Any comments are appreciated.
Cheers

My S1.5 has the same problem - stiff heater controls. I've managed to loosen them up at the linkage under the bonnet with WD40 in the cable and cleaning/greasing the rest. But honestly it doesnt cause a problem at all, the heater is still fully off/fully on even tho the slider doesnt make the full travel.
Its just a TVR thing me thinks
But check that the heater is working (or worse... isnt always on)before you buy....S's are "hot" to drive as it is.

WD40 on the bit under the bonnet, and clean the panel with cotton buds and lubricate with that stuff you can buy from halfords.

Mine are as smooth as the proverbial infants arse...

I sprayed the sliders with silicon spray (available from DIY stores and curtain shops etc.)Works a treat. Obviously lubriacating the valve under the bonnet will help aswell.

That's the stuff!

Halfords do it in a big yellow can!
