Oxygen site is nice. Quick even on my lowly PII 233 laptop.

For quality flash check out:

www.2advanced.com

They do some quality sites including:

www.2advanced.com/portfolio/01LA/intro.htm

For a looks and design I like these photographers sites:

www.verne.be

&

www.simonfocus.com/portfolio1.html

Unfortunately they all would benefit from a fast connection.

I also like Andy Fould's site - www.foulds2000.freeserve.co.uk/index_v2.html

Click on the amusements too as well as the Enter part.

for me, the guardian and the bbc are both great.

a proper global site navigation bar is the key to a good large site. so you can get anywhere from anywhere in a minimum of hops.

If you are interested in nice site design, the place to go is macromedia.com's showcase... there is some great stuff in there

They have got a new HTML one as well now which has a nice clean design, not a big fan of the flash one though (actually that extends to my views of all 'functional' websites)
