How easy is it to change out the top wishbone/strut link (front) on a 156 and do i have to remove the whole assembly or can it be done in situ. Thanks.

Having done one, I'd say to try slackening off the anti-roll bar drop link nuts first. On my wife's car they were seized and I had the devil's own job getting them off - the hexagon hole in the middle just rounded off instantly! Other than that, not too bad a job but it's true that once all the bolts are out, you never think the assembly will come out! (It will though)!

These caused me soooo much trouble when I replaced the springs on my Sportwagon. Big tip from a friendly mechanic (A4Alfa) was to make sure the head recess is clean before attempting to remove them.

Also found standing on the brake disc/hub helped to provide clearance for the top wishy redface
