....a company to successfully deliver an item before I can say that the complete unit is unfit for purpose and therefore in contravention of the sale of goods act? The item in question is an end wall from a wooden shed and the company involved seems less than bothered to deliver us a serviceable item. Any advice on action I can take to try and 'encourage' them to play ball? The shed is full paid for and I have made several phonecalls/emails/call-ins with no joy so far.
A letter giving them a reasonable amount of time to rectify the situation before you will legally reject the goods and request a refund.
Of course, you can flesh it out with the facts and exactly what you need rectifying, but it is best on paper in writing if you want to take things further and show that you have given them ample chance for rectification.
