Heater Amplifier Connector

That little fker has been such a pain in my car, the plug keeps melting and killing the amplifier!!!
no heaters through winter really does suck!
One of the capacitors went us on mine causing one of the plug pins to draw alot of current which melted the surrounding plastic of the pin. I've replaced both capacitors and now going to replace the plug.no heaters through winter really does suck!

This looks a good idea Graham. Think I'll do the same.

I had a problem with my connector as well (it melted slightly causing a very bad connection which would require the passenger to constantly wiggle the wires until a good connection was made and the air-con would start working again).
I got a new connector from TVR Power just after the factory closed... it was a nightmare to source... that wasn't the problem though, getting the pins to slot inside of the connector proved impossible I ended up having to cut (well more like melt due to the plastic being so hard) the pins out of the old connector (with a short length of wire still attached) and then clean them up as best as possible and slot them into the new connector. I then re-connected the wires to the loom using standard bullet connectors. It worked in the end but not ideal! I had to slightly bend the pins on the amplifier to ensure a good connection with the clip.
Any idea where to get the pins for the inside of the clip (although now I suppose I would have to get the whole lot as once those pins are in it is very hard to remove them!).

Nick, I have exactly the same problem as you did. I found a similar connector at, www.uk.farnell.com, which looks like it will do the trick. I'll let you know part number and cost when I order the connector.I got a new connector from TVR Power just after the factory closed... it was a nightmare to source... that wasn't the problem though, getting the pins to slot inside of the connector proved impossible I ended up having to cut (well more like melt due to the plastic being so hard) the pins out of the old connector (with a short length of wire still attached) and then clean them up as best as possible and slot them into the new connector.
