Crazy is on the road at last. Canam just delivered back from factory. Only managed about 10 miles so far and nothing has fallen off!! Weekend planned of slowly travelling in greater loops from home, returning for careful checks.

Does life get any better!!

Nice one Crazy!
It looks like you've got the right weather for it.
What spec engine have you got?
Are you going to Brands Hatch in September? You will probably have sore gums from grinning by Monday.

Hi Chewy

Its an small block chevy ex American Speed 535bhp.

Sorry missed Stig and Guy at weekend you must have been going too fast.

Great weekend about 100 miles on the clock. Only problem a small oil leak from engine. Its at the front on right hand side. Ummm. Not a lot there to leak. I have tightened plate where A/C would go. Currently using mirrors but cannot see anywhere it could come from. Anybody had any similar problems.

Apart from above having a ball with the car. It does rather attract attension. I have never seen so many police cars. Are they following me!!!.

l had exactly the same problem and it was the cover plate by the air con compressor where Chevrolet locate the fuel pump l think. The cover plate/compressor mounting was securely fixed but there was no gasket. I recall the compressor is fitted here in some way but as my engine is still in Lancing, I cant even check. Anyway, that is where the oil was coming from as it is part of the oil way in the block serving the petrol pump. l fitted a gasket and hey presto, no more oil leak.
Look forward to seeing the new car at Brands!

Thanks Ultiman. Great advice. I had tighten the plate but now see why there is still a problem. Did you just make a blank gasket. Where can you get gasket material from.

Thanks

A good clean and silicon instant gasket may be all you need.
