Hi All,

Just thought I'd see if any of you have come across this problem before whilst I'm waiting for my mechanic mate to pop round. I'm hoping someone's had something similar and it's not too expensive as we've just had the redundancy notice round at work so its good timing frown

Basically I went to get the M3 out of the garage yesterday which had been in there for about 2 weeks. I starting reversing out and the car started jumping, like a caliper was stuck, so i got out to have a look and found that the front end of the car on the drivers side was sitting a bit too low!

I've not been able to get the wheel off to have a proper look yet as I've now found out my BMW jack is broken as well (doh!) and the car is now too low for my trolley jack!, but it looks like the spring has popped out somehow and is catching the inside of the tyre.. the wheel is sitting way up in the arch as well.

Any ideas guys? Like I say I'm waiting for my mechanic mate to pop round to have a look and see if he can repair it where it is as moving it could be interesting.

I can't believe this has failed whilst the car has been stood still although thank god it did!!

Cheers guys!

Mechanic mate can't make it till the weekend so I whipped the wheel off for a quick look smile

It's definitely the spring thats gone.. as you can see in my dodgy phone pics!

Question is what should I replace it with? Is it worth sticking with OEM and just replace the front springs or is it worth getting an after market kit and replace all four? Should I think about replacing the shockers as well?

Thoughts appreciated!
