I am considering turning a Rover Turbo T16 engine to RWD. I have a Toyota W58 gearbox that I want to use. Anyone any advise on this conversion? I know its been done tons of times with Rover bits but how easy will it be to make the Toyota box fit the Rover back plate?

Cheers,
Steve

Easiest way would be to use a Rover SD1 box (2litre bellhousing) and a late sherpa 2litre Starter motor/flywheel/clutch to suit the crank shaft sensor(its in the back plate and works off the flywheel)Starter on the sherpa is engine side rather than gearbox side. There was an MGB with a rwd T16 turbo set up in one of the mags recently (PPC?) not 100% certain which one though.

what's it going in? and good luck!!
