We know the cat that did it as ours has had a few run-ins with him before resulting in a couple of lost canine teeth amongst other injuries. Aside from the vet bills, I don't like my cat suffering. So how do I broach the subject of this other cat not being neutered with his owner, without going ballistic & demanding he cut his balls off (the cat's, not the owner's!)?

I think your chance of making any worthwhile progress with the owner is very slim indeed. In fact, I don't think I would even mention it to him, because if you did, and someone unknown was to catch the tom and take it to a vet to be castrated, he would immediately suspect that it was you.singlecoil said:

Yeah I had considered that option but....1. I doubt we'd catch him. He's gone as soon as he senses any activity from the house.
2. I wouldn't want to try blagging the vet if they scan him and find his details.
TBH his owner is a nice enough guy and not having spoken to him about this latest incident yet, I would say he's unaware of the effects of neutering cats.

We went to the Highland safari park at the weekend and one of the highlights was seeing this Scottish wild cat.
Beautiful, powerful animals. Rarer than tigers.Almost certain to go extinct in the wild by the 2020s, due to domestic-cat interbreeding and diminishing habitat / prey
