My mother's cat right now. They moved their room around and she used to sleep peacefully on top of the sofa. The TV was moved from another room and now she insists on watching the tv. If you turn it off she goes to sleep.
She has become a recent window watching fan as well (big tvs).
Unlike any other cat I have experienced she's a voluntary house cat - she HATES being put out, never asks to go out, and while she's the boss of the house she shows disinterest in any new way out in a way I have not seen before.
The exact opposite of the cat I grew up with in the same house but there we go. She isn't shy and goes round on every door of each bedroom on the house (including my room - I'm there twice a year) and the guest rooms if occupied with the expectation of a 10 minute cuddle at 8am whoever anyone stays.
And yes she does spend a lot of time aligning and realigning her white bits (poor photo here - she's usually much more aligned).

Farewell our wonderful wee Smokie. You were the best companion we could have wished for over the last 17 Years.
We are, quite simply, bereft.
Sorry for your loss, we all on here know, unfortunately, what you are going through right now.We are, quite simply, bereft.
17 is a really good age, I hope our two make it at least that far.
The house will seem very empty and still, don't leave it too long to welcome another Boss to your house.
Thanks Folks. We have dreaded this and it's really really difficult. Even harder than we imagined. Mrs A just burst out crying while eating her breakfast this morning. Our wee one loved eggs..
We'll love another I think. We do actually NEED owned...
Not yet though. Smokes is still 'here'. Everywhere. Still....

I just want to be alone.................
Living without Moggie was not good, we could not resist the urge to get a new cat. So we welcomed Bob into our home.
He is an entirely different ball-game. A five/six year old stray from a rough area of S London. He has been well looked after at some time but I feel he must have bee a bit traumatized by his experiences. He was in the home for a month.
He has come around a lot , but still feels inclined to lash out for no reason. He is wildly over weight and on a reducing diet, which probably makes him a bit bad-tempered.
We've had him three weeks so far. Another week and he can venture out.
