Does anyone else's cat get lost?
Our ragdoll seems to occasionally get lost. He has turned into a prolific hunter and spends his days and nights decimating the local rodent population in the fields around us.
However, twice now, he has disappeared for a couple of days. We wonder around calling his name and he appears, bedraggled and ravenously hungry.
My theory is that he gets chased by the resident fox and either loses his bearings or waits for us to call, so he knows it's safe to return.

You need a loc8tor (as modelled by one of the cats 2 posts above).

Sorry to say this, but I think your cat is officially a halfwit Ours always find they way home after about 24 hours, even the one that is properly stupid. Our ragdoll seems to occasionally get lost. Link, the Bengal, manged to lose himself for three weeks. Got back into the UK after a trip to Le Mans a few years ago to a message from a local vet saying they'd had a cat handed in and the chip came back to us. He'd actually turned up in a back garden about 100m up the road from us. We'd spent weeks wandering the streets shouting for him, posters, leaflets, reward, etc. Made sure the lady who'd turned him over to the vet got the reward.Munter said:

Yes, they work well, just the beep of the collar transmitter when you switch the locator on brings them homehttp://www.loc8tor.com/uk/pets/loc8tor-pet.html

Absolutely stunning
This is Arthur and Misty, can't remember exactly when this was taken, but they turned one in July. Both from the same mother who didn't survive.
Misty is the grey & white short hair, Arthur is the other. Arthur especially likes water and is not averse to having a shower!! Love them to bits and it's been quite a while since we lost our first cat.
