Our Renualt 19 16v of 1994 vintage has recently developed an fault which I cannot identify for a fix. It starts fine from cold and will run nicely with lots of power whilst engine gets upto normal running temp'. When the engine reaches the normal running temp' it starts to misfire and very soon after will only run on 2/3 cylinders. I have replaced the ignition coil with a new one but the fault remains the same? Any suggestions please.

Plugs and leads have to be prime contenders along with the coil.

Does the system also have an ignition amplifier? Probably fitted to the outside of the dizzy or maybe with the coil? These also can fail and in my experience they fall over when hot.

Thanks Steve, I shall replace the ignition leads and plugs this week and hope for best. Wether the engine has an ignition amplifier, I have no idea at this stage. More investigating needed.
