Some of you that know me know that these are somewhat of an obsession with me, I've always wanted one!

Had one in on the dyno at the weekend, an F reg highline, in very good nick.

I want one even more now!

The "comestic work" needed on the wing and wheelarch sounds ominous. Unless that plate is worth the money I think it's too much. By way of example, this is the one I used to own: http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C32809 It has a recent Munich Legends service history and when I sold it (less than 7000 miles previously) there was no rot...

Under 100K, with new timing chain. What was I thinking?

I had a choice of two in Germany back in 93, one at DM10k, the other at nearly DM12k.

Why, oh why did I not do it?

It was white and had been converted to Highline spec. Probably needed £1k to get it looking really nice. 80k miles with history

Good that there are so many like minded people out there. Bad that there's so much competition and I am distinctly disadvantaged. I am trying to source a RHD car to import into Hong Kong.

Looked at all the listings on classiccarsforsale etc but no luck. Talked to two sellers but both got the year of the car wrong! Just made me nervous since I cannot inspect the cars and can only rely on their words and photos.

Looking for an 'exceptional' car and don't mind paying a premium. White preferred. Would appreciate it if you guys can share any left overs that you find!

You must be referring to the one with the M stripes? Yes, I did. Was about to put down a deposit but the invoice had a different year. It's an 85 not an 86. I don't care per se but the seller did not disclose it to me and therefore made me nervous. Not sure what else is undisclosed. I can't see the car so I rely heavily on disclosures. The agreed to price was high and I backed off thinking that it wasn't worth the risk...the ad still has the wrong date and I wonder why he didn't change it...

Thanks, anyway.

It is being sold by a dealer from memory and as such I wouldn't care about the mistake on the date. If you want someone to go check it out for you for the cost of petrol I would be willing to.
