Not normally on this forum but just noticed that there are 58 R8s in the classifieds already! Is it all going 'Pete tong' or am I missing something? Seems like a heck of a lot for such a new car.

Lot of people coming off two year fixes?

Development lending getting a lot tighter?

Speculators dumping cars before it goes properly to st?

Its not a product problem, and someone bought them in the first place so I doubt it bothers Audi too much.

I would put money on it that some of them are not physical, in stock, cars...and the rest are people that are trying to make some money .i.e. speculators...its the same with any new prestige car - and if you could be bothered you could do it yourself (personally I cant!)

go into a dealer, as soon as the car is announced, or well before in fact, just a rumour, go and put £1K down to get in the top 10 inthe country etc ....some people do this with 10 or 20 cars at a time !

...then sell your place in the queue for a premium to the rich man who just wants this years toy and dosent care about a £10K or £20K premium etc

OR drive the flash new car for 3 months, and sell it for a premium, just as the supply starts to meet demand...then you always have the latest motor to pose around in, and it costs you nothing ! smile

Refusal by a lot of people to accept that they really aren't worth the massive premiums some dealers still stick on them, the bubble has burst. Prices still look excellent but nobody is going to get rich. If you want an R8 and know who to ask you could buy one today for list price.
