Audi RS4 Advice please

Looking to change charriots in the near future , and i found this

Now i know i loved it when it first came out , i know about the wheel problems , maybe that explains the Bling wheels fitted to this one , but i cant find any real info on them .

Audiophile I may be, but not a Swedish speaking one.

Looks very nice (obviously not the standard wheels - I would be concerned if they're not recognised replacements) but I don't really know much about the RS4 (now the RS2, that's the one to have ).

To jump in slightly late...

I thought Audi had put the softer wheels on to protect the suspension, and that using other wheels coudl cause serious problems in other places.

I'd live to be preoven wrong, as I'd like one, but not while the wheels are suspect.

If it's any help I CAN do the Swedish thing and judging from the ad its a standard car (with a natty set of wheels) and the techno half leather seats but otherwise pretty much fully loaded with sunroof, satnav and telly and so on. But at 450,000 SEK it's a bit dear - look on www.mobile.de and see what i mean...

it is a common misconception that replacing the softer wheels will compromise the suspension - this is not the case for two reasons.

Firstly Audi themselves offer the harder wheel option now if you want to come out of the softer lifetime warrantly which indicates the initial wheel was not fit for purpose, and that harder wheels will not effect the suspension at all.

Secondly, I have been running 10x19 Sportec alloys on mine for 30k miles now, along with 30mm lowered and stiffened suspension. Around 20 trackdays during this period so if ever there was a case to demonstrate the fact there isn't an issue, surely this is it.

So you have three choices, all of them proved ;

1. Stick with soft and have them changed every 3000 miles FOC
2. Opt out into the harder wheels and have a 3 year warranty on them (BTW these bend as well)
3. Go to 19" Sportec, MTM, or the RS6 alloy, all tried and tested.

Please don't let the wheel saga put you off ownership, you will not regret it.

I couild not believe the weight of an MTM wheel I picked up in Kim Collins showroom today. Must have weighed about 10kgs!
