Ran into the back of a woman this morning at a junction. My fault as i thought she had gone, looked right to move forward in prep of going, but she hadnt gone. Big bang but only happened at may 10kmh.

Anyway, back of her little Lancer was mildly dented.

My stty Mitsubishi Magna 1993 has got a bloody great dented bonnet however and a cracked grille. Relieved as the lights, indicator and everything else works ok.

So, anyone know where to get a bonnet for a 1993 Magna TR?!

Good stuff Dev. I think about $70 should get me one. Same colour optional... biggrin

By the way, do you live in Rockingham? I've just moved to Baldivis. Perhaps a Beer is in order. Also calling anyone else and Tim?

Just out of interest, where are all the scrap yards in Perth?
I live in Kingsley and could do with a couple of bits for my Pajero. Is there any on-line at all?

Yes I do live in Rockingham!! I am in Cooloongup so only a few mins drive from you.

I think there are lots of scrappies in the Midland area, bit of a drive from down here though.

I have seen a few jap car wreckers about and there is also the 'pick and pay' scrappies to try.

Well a beer is in order i think!

With regards to the car cheers for the info.

Update is that the bonnet is creased but its not the main concern. The reason the bonnet bent is that when i hit the other car, the bumper area is connected to a main support strut that runs in front of the radiator, and this in turn is connected to the bonnet catch. When the bumper moved, it pulled the strut, therefore moving the catch, which in turn pulled the bonnet causing the crease.

Last night when we straightened the bonnet we couldnt lock it back to the latch as it was out of alignment. So we re-creased it (just a bit) and this means that if i got a new bonnet it too wouldnt fit as i need to bend back the support strut.

So (big breath) we bent the bonnet a bit so its not so bad, and the bonnet catches nicely and opens and shuts fine, the lights all work and dont seem to be out of alignment and all really seems ok with it. Given that i am not in a position to either fix it (knowledge) or can afford to change the car at the moment (financial) then i might just run it as it is and see how it goes.

Its got rego till sept so as long as i keep that up, and i can still service it i am not sure what else to do but keep it.

If i went out and got another park and ride 5hitbox then that may have big mechanical issues, whereas mechanically this ones fine.

So keep it and run it i will, unless there are any other suggestions?

Unless someone wants to give me $1250 for a 1993 Magna TR 2.6 with 240,000km on it with 4 months regobiggrin

Not really worth trying to replace the car I would think. In that sort of price range your always going to risk picking up a money pit so you might as well stick with what works for now.

Cars dont seem to be selling on the private market at the moment either so you might end up with it sat for months...might aswell run it in to the ground and give it away when it explodes.

ETA: Always got time for a beer and a winge :P

I'm told there is a British themed pub "The Last Drop" on Rae Rd. There is also the Nags Head at the intersection of Ennis Ave and Grange Rd....near Rockingham Trainstation.

There is also all the eateries along the foreshore.

I'm easy. A saturday would probably work the best.

I'll upgrade this to the Perth meet up thread to see if anyone else is in.
