Goodwood Supercar Sunday 1st June
Discussion
Talking to PDTVR & Jonka we are thinking about making the trip down to Goodwood for Supercar Sunday this weekend & was wondering if any others out there are also thinking of going?

we have not been before but have heard that its a good morning out is any body else going and do they fancy making a bit of a convoy down from the essex area, say m25 services at lakeside for example?

No need to book although i think you can register on their site (www.goodwood.co.uk/breakfastclub) to give them an idea of who is going.
Free to go to (Optional expensive organic breakfasts available)
GET THERE EARLY - By 9am ideally. These events are VERY popular. Cars that meet the theme go to the display area, other sports/interesting cars such as TVRs go through the main entrance into a hardstanding carpark but this tends to get full quite quickly.
'normal' cars get put in a field, as will you if you arrive later on and the main carpark is full.
Fantastic event, best one of the breakfast clubs IMHO and some good roads down there. Unfortunately i can't make it this year as i'll be recovering from my mates stag night in Belfast

Funny that, i phoned Goodwood yesterday and enquired about parking. Bloke on the phone said 'You can park your TVR on the grass, as hard parking is only reserved for real supercars like Ferarri's... Bloody cheek!Free to go to (Optional expensive organic breakfasts available)

Seriously I assume the guy on the phone knows nothing about British cars, which for anyone connected to Goodwood is an extremely poor show. Maybe he is worried that the moisture rising from the grass could dissolve the Fiats

You'd've thought that Goodwood of all places would know a supercar. Then again it's probably a MWM (minimum wage muppet) manning the phones. But it begs the question, what does 'supercar Sunday' mean? (no, I haven't read the blurb). Maybe they mean 'Expensive Fast Cars That Your Mother Has Heard Of, Sunday'.

Seriously though Guys, dont want to mess about and be parked on some crap piece of grass. Does anyone know the facts about the car park from experience?
Ill give them a call tomorrow. Would we get a bit better treatent if we are arriving with quite a few Tivs?

Quite agree don't really want to be put aside on some muddy turf!Ill give them a call tomorrow. Would we get a bit better treatent if we are arriving with quite a few Tivs?

However I think the earlier we arrive the better for us.
Chaps its a pretty much an open door event which may prove to be one of the most popular of the season so far. Speaking to them or not beforehand, there will be no way they will be able to confirm what, where or when you might get to park - bottom line will be if its heavily attended by lambos et al then good chance they will run a tighter policy, if not then not. Its an informal casual event where the marshalls will do their best on the day. Turn up and you take your chances am afraid.
I spoke to a young lady on the phone at Goodwood today and as already mentioned this is a popular event. Parking basically will be first come first served and it will help us that we are in sports car but then from what i hear almost everybody else going will be as well.
We are meeting up at Lakeside Services on the m25 j30 at 06:30 and will aim Petworth however if things are going bad and time is not on our side we will aim to join the others at Goodwood.
We will see how many turn up tomorrow morning and how things go.
