Hoping for some helpful suggestions from anyone who may have gone through this before.

I have a 2004 A4 3.0 quattro avant that I've owned since about 9,000 miles. It had warped discs when I took delivery from the dealer which they replaced soon after. I managed to get about 45k miles out of the new ones by being what I thought was fairly easy on them until they started to judder a little a couple of months back; fair enough after that many miles I'd say.

Decided to replace them with a third party part this time around to see if I could get something with a little more stopping power and resistance to warping. Went for EBC, which did initially improve the power but have now warped already; haven't contacted them to see if they'll replace them but I suspect that's unlikely.

Finally getting to my question; has anyone tried anything else and been happy with the results? If so could you let me have some details?

Silly q but did you replace pads at same time as disks?
i have an a4 and pads light has come on and plan on doing discs and pads at the same time circa £100-200 dep on whether done myself or through a proper mechanic.

Sensible question actually - I did replace the pads at the same time, EBC as well.

They were also a lot noisier under braking too so can't really recommend them in any respect.

Having done a little more digging I think I might try Nitrac ones this time around - I'll let you know how I get on.

Hmmmmmm EBC, they make really good motorcycle pads to be honest, however PH rules prevent me airing an opinion on their car stuff.

Don't think so - it's just been in for a service and they'd have probably picked it up if so.

Well I was lazy and simply popped round audi and picked up some disks and pads from their parts dept. 100 quid in total iirc. Seem to do the job.

A bit of a late reply...got the Nitrac discs on the front, with EBC yellow stuff pads. Had a problem with the pads in that they didn't come with a wear sensor so we just disabled it.

Went for the drilled version of the discs (they do plain or drilled and grooved as well I think). Not as noisy as the EBC drilled and grooved ones were, but noisier than the standard Audi ones when you're braking firmly. Although the noise could be down to the pads, I expect it's more the discs.

Best of all though is that they haven't warped at all :-) I'd definitely get Nitrac discs again and will get them when the rears wear down. Only question I have in my mind is whether the plain discs might be a better bet for noise reasons.
