Should be able to help out.

Weather permitting, "will somebody please think of the children!" to coin a phrase.

Okay everyone here’s the deal!!

For the charity Childrens Hospice South West (www.chsw.org.uk) we need between 20-40 sports / super cars for 3 reasons.
On Saturday 4th of Oct 2008 we would like to gather these cars for a drive though the grounds of the hospice near Barnstaple in North Devon (EX31 2PZ) so that the children can see them, and those who are able to have a sit in and photo taken with the cars, also their parents and siblings.
Then the convoy will move on a couple of miles down the road and park up on Barnstaple town square, which will be quite a sight!
We are looking then to raise money in three ways. A ten-minute ride in one of the cars for a donation to the Hospice (prices to be agreed with car owners), a photo sat in the car of choice, and good old bucket shaking.
Ideally we would like the usual marques, Ferrari, Lambo, TVR, Noble, etc etc, and as many as poss.
It will also serve as a wonderful marketing opportunity for the hospice attracting TV, radio and press.
Also if any car related or relevant business would like to have a presence or dealer would like to bring some demo cars along I am sure we could work something out.
One last avenue of fund raising would be an auction of car related goods / services, so again if any of you good people have any ideas for this I would be most grateful.
I hope you agree it is a very worthy charity, and I do hope you will be able to help.
Thanks for reading this I hope you get your offers in soon.
Thanks
Mark

Sounds good, I need to pay Barnstaple VW a visit soon (who have a nice R36 parked outside) so would you like me to mention it to them?

can i ask a question about the rides in the cars - how would i stand in terms of my insurance? i have a feeling that doing this type of thing is likely to invalidate it... not something i am very keen on doing.....

any ideas?

My insurers were ok. As long as its not done to earn money for the owner of the car but to raise cash for charity. Phone them and ask.

This is indeed true, it is not for reward, only for a donation to the charity hence your 3rd party insurence will be enough...might be worth a quick call though!!
Thanks for your help.

I've got a Ferrari 355GTS near Taunton if you're interested. I've sent you an email with my phone number. Always up for a good cause, and an excuse for a day out.
