If you think it rained last year, think again. Today there was a three hour deluge of incredible proportions leading to the tunnels being over 5 ft deep at one time. The parking areas are flooded, the roads are covered in lakes of water and gravel and mud. From the small roundabout going towards Maison Blanche the field on the left was over 100 yds wide with water. The corner of the road to Karting Nord was awash and all surrounding fields flooded. Yet I live 5 miles as the crow flies away and we had a 15 minute downpour, that's all. Tomorrow is not looking that good either. If it rains like today the preliminaries won't happen. Fingers crossed!

yikes
I might buy one of those survival life rafts to stay in and anchor it up to the motor!

I survived glastonbury last year so pretty battle hardened.
Lets hope it clears up.

Where are you lowdrag? We live about 20 miles north of the track as the crow flies and it was fine all day here, just a light shower late this evening. Even mowed the lawns today smile

Was planning to head over for the testing tomorrow, but may not if it's really pouring.

I'm just south east of Mulsanne bend and we had a little rain but the circuit was deluged. We went to sign in Saturday afternoon and got as far as McDonalds and Leroy Merlin and saw no signs of rain. From there on it was a quagmire everywhere, far worse than I saw in the fields and camping last year. Ditches overflowing onto the roads, mud, gravel - you name it. Some fields were just lakes. From the look of it, without investigating further, it would appear to be from the tram terminus across to the Parc des expositions and as far south as Porsche curves that was affected. Weather forecast today is for rain this morning and storms this afternoon and evening.

Lowdrag, how's the landscaping at Maison Blanche? Has all the new grass been washed away?

Cheers

I'd like to know as well. The weather last year made the event seem a bit cack.

Well my decision to buy another air bed (to back up the one the old man is taking for us seems to be getting better by the day, we can use the spare as a life raft!!!

Glad that we will have access to a motor home in the centre if things get really bad but as loads have said who cares? The biggest problem of a wet LM is the dilution of the alcohol by rain water!

French drainage as good as their plumbing then by the looks of things.
