Hey everyone,

i thought i might post up my recent 350z shoot that i was hired to do.

posted them on the 350z forum and have been given a lot more work, so that will keep me busy just now.

anyway here goes, you can be nice or nasty (but i prefer nice)

i know i may be on the boundary fence for use of HDR but that's what the customer wanted so i did as i was asked.

And the best for last, this is my favourite!

dont worry about getting bashed for hdr it has its places (though here??!?wink)

3, the skys gone crazy somethings not right in that - you selected to align images? The last one I love that idea of letting the engine shine through. I think the images need lifting a litte as for myself I think they are a little on the dark and flat side.

Which Zed site were they from? I used to be on the ownersclub but left when the split occurred and joined the 350z-uk lads

I like them.

Lots of movement in the sky though, and I think in one of them you can see your tripod. (7th?)

Detail shots are the best, I'm not a fan of the HDR style shots.

Nice pics, not too sure about your signature adorning them - if I was your customer, I'd rather not have it on every image!

good location, imo interior shots are the best, esp over seat view of wheel etc.

however i REALLY dont think the hdri effect works well with cars at all.

anyone ever seen a knock out automotive shot using hdri?

I like them but the first few look too much like computer renderings for my liking.

The detail shots are well executed and I like some of them a lot but in the full-body shots the rear wheel never looks sharp to me, and the front wheel sometimes looks overexposed too IMO. Chrome and light and HDR possibly not a great combo.

Well chosen location tho - silver car works well against the rich red of the brickwork

thats a really nice pic bob, the hdr had left us with detail where with no fill light we would see too much shadow, however i'd much prefer that shot lit with a bit of fill rather than hdr. it just doesn't look real to me.

great shot anyways but, like i say, i've never seen a REALLY AMAZING photo using hdri to compare with the best stuff shot conventionally.

maybe it's out there, i've just not seen it.

thanks for the complients and the constructive criticism biggrin

the cg effect is done by using a technique mentioned above, as HDR (high dynamic range)

i will take everything everyones said into consideration 2nite at the other shoot!

thanks biggrin

They look like shots from Gran Turismowink

First time I saw HDR it was amazing. Fallen more into the trackdemon camp since though...

yes The more I see it the more I think HDR is like spot-colour, learn how to do it and then never do it again! hehe

You're right, I didn't have any lighting with me though.
