Took the monaro in on saturday, left with them to look at monday the fog light and gerabox vibration. finally get a call tuesday to phone them;

"can i authorise £381 for a new fog light"

"But it is in warrenty"

"Talked to the mechanic as the corrosion is this bad it is not covered"

"It's done 30K miles and is less than 3 yrs old"

"Ill talk to our warrenty guy he's not in when can he call you"

"6 PM tommorow"

"Any other time"

"No"

"please hold" Long pause "just managed to catch him leaving and it is approved"

"so if i hadn't argued you would have charged me 381 + vat"

"no sir that is including VAT"

so be carefull when entering a service department

It's just Vauxhall's attitude (whether it's specific to Holden products or right across the range, I don't know) through and through. Did you see Colin Franks' comments in the Quickars thread?

The again, I have just had a whole pile of work done and it was all covered under warranty without a murmur. Maybe it depends on other factors (time of day/week/month, who's calling, who's answering...??)

We just had a front fog light replaced at Slaters on Colwyn Bay (north wales) They did it under warrenty with no probs. They also replaced warped brake discs for nothing. We had already asked our local dealer and they said we'd have to pay. It does depend on the dealer and the mood at the time of the call. It just goes to show it pays to ask

Mornin. The seal had gone so we were gettin moisture in it. The cars almost two years old but they never even questioned it. Just booked it in and got it done. Some dealers can be a real pain in the arse
