Exhaust and shifter fitted!!

Finally got my DiFilippo exhaust system and Billet shifter fitted to the 'Ro.

Headers were a PITA to fit (really only the drivers side) but worth the effort. Not too loud like i've had with previous cars but makes all the right noises and shouldn't have any track day noise limit problems.
Billet shifter was very well made and fitted easily. Currently got it set on the medium setting which is proving plenty short enough, although the centering springs require a strong arm to overcome to slot 1st or reverse. Otherwise very tight and precise, without the weird up and down movement of the Rip.

Just need to get her all washed and waxed ready for LeMans next week.

A shifter is an excellent mod, makes a big difference to how things feel.

Shifter wasn't hard to fit, but I did need to drop the gearbox by 4" to get to one of the dust cover screws and the front mounting bolts. This was probably made easier by not having the cat-back system in place at the time, but may not have made much of a difference.

I'd seen some say you can do it without dropping the box so long as you dont mind swearing and cut knuckles!

how much was your shifter?

Try fitting the vxr8 shifter.. exhaust has to come off...

I am sure the experts know this but I was quite amused by it when last in Australia. I was told that Billet shifter and Rip Shifter are seperate businesses but in the same Aussie country town, the owners are brothers and now compete with each other.

You probably could if you had some fancy bendy tools I found it easier to drop the box. The front mounting bolts were bloody tight so couldn't quite do them with a allen key, had to get a ratchet wrench on them, hence the dropping the box.

Got the shifter through Ken at Walkinshaw. Was around the 350-400 mark plus postage within the UK, can't remember the exact figure just seemed reasonable and said yes. May have been able to get it cheaper direct from Oz, but Ken got one quickly and saved me some shipping by putting it in one of their regular import crates.
