I am looking to change the tyres on my Z4C, ridding it of the OE RFTs!

Car runs on 225/45/17 all round, bought the car running 17s in the vain hope of reducing the harsh ride and tram-lining effect,(thinner rears and higher tyre height than 18s).

Have good experiences of Toyo T1Rs on my previous tuscan, but Falken 452s seem to get good press too.

Any recommendations?

452's get good press becuase they are cheap, so people cheap out, buy them, then we get the situation whereby unless you are in an emergency situation or whatever we cant judge the difference between tyres anyway and then tell the world their cheapo Falkens are amazing.

Meanwhile, back in the world of quality tyres, it is Bridgestone Potenza RE050A and Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric which appear to be the proven best at the moment (Thats actual figures rather than some random off the internet).

If it is of any interest, I've changed from 18" Michelin Pilot Sports on my 330ci to "cheap" Falken 452s. They were cheap. They tramline FAR LESS than the Pilots, I've not seen the DSC light flash once since they were fitted (used to be a common sight) and they were cheap. My wife and I have just shared 2000 miles driving in France and Germany (gratuitous holiday mention) which included a lot of mountain hairpins and some time on the Nurburgring. Absolutely no complaints at all. My wife would not call herself a motoring expert, but can certainly tell the difference the cheap Falkens make to the driving experience. They were cheap tyres though...

A female aquaintance of mine runs a Z4 roadster with 19" Falkens fitted. She has nothing bad to say about them, although they were cheap.

Am I being a little too pedantic?
