Guys,

A friend of mine is just putting his Aston Martin V8 Vantage (2007) up for sale.

I thought I remembered someone looking for one a little way back, and thought it might be worth offering it round here first. I realize it'd be better to do this in the classifieds... but he'll take care of that properly later this week.

It's Silver, 13k on the clock and completely mint. The interior is black leather with white stitching.

(Electric front windows, remote central locking, leather interior, all round airbags, air conditioning, power assisted steering, anti-locking brake system, alloy wheels, CD player, satellite navigation)

£83,000 when New. He's looking for around 62,000

It's a spectacular car and sounds like a beast!

Ouch. 25% in a year, that's gotta hurt.

Remind me again why I would want a heavier, slower, thirstier car that costs a lot more to insure...bearing in mind I don't like leather and never listen to music when driving.

Yeah but the V8 is the el cheapo DB9 wannabe. The Ford Escort of the Aston's. A Boxter in a 911 lineup. Erm bored of thinking up parallels now smile

haha, guys, your comments are not helping me help my friend out! biggrin

It is a great car, and a good deal too. So pass it around if you have any friends that might be on the lookout etc.

Cheers guys.

Maybe because it's an Aston and looks better, sounds better, has better interior, has a better reputation and starts occasionally???

Or maybe that it carries on picking up speed over 130 mph?

Never noticed a problem getting to 165-169 at Brunters over the years at VMAX. Funny how an AMV8 only managed 160 at last weekends.....

In your opinion, of course looking at your profile you have had extensive experience of both cars and the V8 isn't the seriously flawed car that most people far less knowledgeable than you think it is.

Think im going to have to sell my Noble and buy a stty little Vauxhall instead.

Yeah! the DB9 has two V6 Mondeo engines in a common crankcase much better than that old V8wink
Just imagine doing to each half what Adrian had done to his engine yikes
Hmm... Circa 1200! BHP a poor mans veyron beater? scratchchin

On a serious note there are several V8's of this vintage in dealers with half the mileage.
Given a dealer has "more facilities" to hand. I fear you friend may struggle to get his price (though I agree it would be good value for a cash buyer in the market for one)
