Am I really to believe that after the announcement of a Supercar convoy to one of the best car events of the year, we have only one reply??
Anyone who has ever joined this convoy in the past will know that incredible feeling of being a part of it. I have done this convoy/ Supercar Sunday event ever since getting my Lambo 5 years ago. I had never really thought about the concept of joining a convoy prior to this, until I was invited to attend by the Lamborghini Club in 2003. It made me understand that having a supercar is one thing, sharing that passion with other like-minded people, unified and empowered on the road together is entirely something else! Quite honestly, it gets stratospheric!
In the past we have had up to about 60 supercars from all the greatest car stables in the world join us here. So you can imagine how these convoys look whilst traveling up the M40 from Junction 4 to Junction 12 - awe-inspiring! Now times that concept by approximately one hundred times (give or take a thousand) and you start to understand what being a part of this convoy might feel like. Everywhere you look (wing mirrors, rearview mirror, windscreen, side windows etc) are filled with the vibrant colours of these utterly stunning machines, all on the road for the same reason, lavishly enjoying every mile of road that we have ahead of us.
If you have a supercar and the weather is good this Sunday 15th June, any other plans you might have (im personally going to have to reschedule a funeral) should be put in second place so that you can join us and do an event that will remind you why the supercar you own is undoubtedly the best purchase you ever made (not that you really need to be reminded!).
The main meeting point is behind Wycombe Lamborghini:
Modena House
Blenheim Road
Cressex Business Park
High Wycombe
Bucks
HP12 3RS
Supercars start arriving from 8:00am and start the convoy for Gaydon at 8:45 - 9:00am latest. The gates for the SuperCar Sunday event at Gaydon officially open at 10:00am. As always, we only want safe, respectful drivers joining us.
Glenn, are we meeting your convoy at junction 9?

Are we all agreed that it makes sense for the convoy from LHW at 9am to divert to Bicester Services ( near J9 ) at 930am ?
Glenn and Adam, I still have your number from meeting at Brooklands, so if you're happy to wait at Bicester Services, then I'm happy to update you on the progress of the LHW convoy to meet you.
Regards,
Andrew.

This is all sounding alot more positive now! We have got ourselves a seriously exciting array of supercars ready to go. Apparently we also have a Delorean joining us.
I think that the key is to integrate the two 'convoys' at junction 9. The convoy run will be broken up if any of us have to stop and wait, so if we give the 'junction 9'rs' a call when we are at junction 8 they can then seamlessly integrate.

Hi there Andrew
Personally, I wouldnt really want to stop the convoy at junction 9 only to rejoin it for a short run to junction 12. It breaks up the convoy for just a further 5 -10 minute drive together to junction 12. I might well be in the minority on this one and if that is the case, I will gladly go with your idea if all the rest of the junction 4 convoy wants to do the stop off. Theres no fun in driving in convoy alone :-)

From long and often quite bitter experience (!), LCUK's convoy holding skills are easily defeated. Usually it takes just a couple of kiddy sneezes by the child seat passenger in a Volvo in Pembrokeshire and the extra beat of one butterflies wings on Siberia's hottest day of the year to throw things completely sideways-wrongness... just an 'istorical viewpoint!!
You never know, I'd say you might all be better agreeing to break the convoy and arrive in dribs an drabs or, actually fully re-assemble very close to J12 of the M40 and enter Gaydon together - quite where you'd do that though would have been a point of discussion some time ago I guess! Is it entirely legal to await people on the hard shoulder?
In the interest of being some kind of help, why not DECIDE to reassemble somewhere after J9, even if the complete convoy would therefore be quite short? That way at least a smaller convoy can leave LHW and meet with another smaller convoy and then all make the grand entry to to the Heritage Motor Museum at the same time... just mind you don't bump into a bright turquoise Honda Civic* after you leave the motorway... see you Sunday chaps!

- unless Ant drives up from deepest West Sussex in The Raging Bull(frog), the green menace won't be there this time, ho hum.
